Binding is loosened. A rare collection of beloved hymns, translated into the Hawaiian language by Lorenzo Lyons, who also went by the name of "Makua Laiana." Ordained as a Congregationalist minister at Auburn Seminary, Lyons arrived in Hawaii in 1832 and spent the remainder of his life dedicated to the native Hawaiians. He was fluent in the Hawaiian language and composed many poems and hymns. Lyons' best-known work is the Hawaiian National Anthem, "Hawaii Aloha."
