This important ornithological study of "Chrysomitridops Caerulerostris" from "Aves Hawaiienses" by Scott Wilson and A. H. Evans, 1890-99, is an original hand coloured stone lithograph by Frederick William Frohawk. Sold by subscription, this first edition image portrays the locally known Akeke'e or Kaua'i Akepa. Although endangered this bird can still be seen on the roads and trails of Koke'e on the island of Kaua'i.
