Peter Hayward (1905 - 1993) was an American artist best known for his realistic landscape, seascape and urbanscape paintings. Spanning from Indonesia, to Hawaii and New York his works were made with thick palette knife marks and bright colors. Born 1905 in Keene, NH, he studied at Middlebury College in Vermont from 1921 until 1923 and was a member of several prominent artists' leagues and associations, including the Lahaina Art Association and the New York Salmagundi Club. Hayward spent a large portion of his life in Hauula, Hawaii located on the Windward side of the island of Oahu. Over the course of his career he garnered several awards, including the Grand Prize All Media at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Show in New York.
