Regular price $125.00 Sale

Original albumen photo of students and staff at Ka'u School on the Big Island of Hawaii, circa 1920s. 16.4 x 6.5 inches. Archivally matted and ready to frame. Albumen hand-printing, invented in 1850, was the most popular form of photographic printing from the 1860s to 1890s. It used the albumen found in egg whites to bind the photographic chemicals to the paper, and silver nitrate to produce images by exposure to light.
