1930s Gumps Hawaii Carved Wooden Anthurium Leaf Coffee Table
This gorgeously carved mango wood coffee table, featuring Hawaii’s Anthurium plant, was sold circa 1930s by the legendary Gumps of Waikiki department store.
Measurements: 19″ H x 15.5″ W x 36.5″ L
Made of solid wood in great condition for its age. Please note that cracks are apparent in the carved wooden ends; please see photos for specific condition.

Gump’s, a San Francisco-based retailer of jewelry, luxury furnishings and home décor items, was one of the first retail shops in Waikiki. Designed by leading architect Hart Wood, Gump’s Waikiki outlet, opened in 1928 and did a booming business during Hawaii’s pre-War territorial period, when the sugar and pineapple industries were operating at full tilt. Gump’s continues to operate a store in San Francisco, CA, as well as a catalog and website.
