Fine 1830s Kou Wood Maui Style Bowl ex. Irving Jenkins Collection
A fine old Native Hawaiian kou wood poi bowl, or “umeki poi,” probably lathe-turned, and displaying the geometric planes distinctive to the style used for a short period on Maui.
Measurements: 8 1/2″ diameter at mouth, 3″ height. 3/16″ wide lip. Weighs 11.4 oz.
