Born in Redlands, California on Sept. 6, 1910, Ben Norris studied privately with Frederic Taubes and Stanton MacDonald-Wright, and at Pomona College, Harvard University, and the Sorbonne in Paris. During 1934-35 he was employed by Disney Studios. He was a professor of art at the University of Hawaii after 1937 and a resident of Brooklyn, New York in the 1990s.
